My Sh*t list of the week

A weekly column, every Wednesday will be dedicated to who or what is on my shit list of the week. This will be a person, organization, or just a general idea or movement that just kinda sucks. This weeks nominees are as follows: the sun, Brian Kelly, squeaky shoes on tile floors, and Florida State.

Now I know what you're thinking, based on my article yesterday about how hopeful Notre Dame's future looks after losing Brian Kelly, it would have to be him. Or maybe its Florida State, the dumpster fire football team in Florida's capital, starting 0-2 after their fans talked so much shit after being left out of the playoff last year. Maybe its squeaky shoes on tile floors, teaching middle school that's all I hear, all day long. If you thought any one those options, you're WRONG. IT'S THE SUN. IT'S SO HOT BUT FOOTBALL HAS STARTED, WE'RE OFFICIALLY INTO SEPTEMBER, WHY ARE THE TEMPERATURES STILL ABOVE 85 DEGREES!?

The capital letters might be a little dramatic, but I stand by it. The sun is an invincible force that cannot be beaten no matter how much I try. Summer time is awesome, no responsibilities, sunny weather and all kinds of possibilities. But I live in Utah, where the heat is endless. There is often a nice summer breeze that makes it a little more bearable but lets be really honest with ourselves, summer has got to be one of, if not the single most, overrated season out there. Fall is easily #1, Spring is probably last and then Summer and Winter probably switch back and forth between #2 and #3.

My hot take is that everyone likes summertime because they are used to the school calendar. You're in school for anywhere from 12-15 years so you get used to having summertime off. Then you're out and you might get used to being without a school schedule, but if you're a college football fan you never stop being on a school schedule really, until you have kids and you're back on the same schedule as when you were growing up.

Summertime brings WAY less responsibility and it's a time to chill and go on vacation, that's why everyone likes it. Not because it's actually an elite season like Fall. The best temperature is right around the 50-60 degree mark and I will not budge on that. Those temps happen mostly in fall, making fall the best time. Summer sucks, the heat is worse. I'm ready for hoodies, not dripping sweat if I'm outside for more than 10 minutes (I know--this is a fat guy issue. Don't bring it up).

That is my shit list of the week, thanks for tuning in. See you next week, hopefully you won't be on the list!
