The NFL is so back. Football is so back. The best time of the year is really starting to come around. Once the temperature hits 60 degrees outside, that's heaven. A crispy fall morning and watching football all weekend is just the best. With that being said, even though its still hotter than hades outside, football being back is still something to smile about and to talk about. So let's get right into it and talk about some football.
Now, I know what you're thinking, this is an extremely biased scope to have after a full weekend of football. I really want to say that its unbiased, but I'll let you be the judge. Saquon Barkley is a DOG. 3 touchdowns in his debut? Are you kidding me? What a guy. I won't always focus on the Eagles, don't worry, but for now I think it's impossible to look past them without giving them a little shine.

The entire Green Bay/Philadelphia match up in Brazil was more or less a disaster. The fans were awesome and you could tell they were really invested. Rumors were flying about safety concerns for the players and their families and a lack of certain social media websites due to bans in place in the lead up to the game were certainly concerning. The field was really awful, honestly. Guys were slipping all over the place like a damn slip n' slide. The offenses of both teams were pretty horrendous. As the game went on, things got better which is to be expected. Which makes me wonder why more starters don't play, at least a little bit, in the preseason to help work out some of the kinks. The combination of a rough field to play on and rusty offenses did not make for very much of a viewing experience for the fans but just seeing real football still rocks.
The biggest reason that the Philadelphia Eagles are my #1 winners of the weekend really stems from Saquon. The team had a big win against a really good team, one that many in the media are choosing to win the NFC, and Saquon had a lot to do with that. Jalen Hurts did not look great, he looked good and bad throughout the game. His best moment was easily his touchdown toss to Saquon early in the 2nd quarter. It was thrown on a DIME and Saquon made an awesome catch to finish it off. AJ Brown had an electric catch and run for a touchdown and Davonte Smith, despite not blowing up the stat line, he was a big contributor throughout the game and made some important catches.
Football is back, the Birds are back. They are so back that I'm going to really enjoy this season but I can't help but feel some dread for the upcoming season. Simply because I have horrible luck when it comes to sports. Other than Super Bowl 52, I've known lots of heartbreak. So here's to a great start to football season, it's going to be a great year. Cheers, football fans.
